CTCARES for Child Care Programs Will Close on July 3rd

Registration for the CTCARES for Child Care Program will close at 11:59 p.m. on July 3.

  • Programs may enter their attendance for the week ending July 3, 2020 and any proceeding weeks until Monday, July 6 at 11:59 p.m.
  • No attendance reports will be accepted after this date.

CTCARES for Child Care Businesses

CTCARES for Child Care Businesses, also called the Care Package, is designed to help with program expenses. There are two subsidy programs available: Expense Kickstart and Supply Subsidy. Both are one-time lump sum payments per licensed program. These are NOT first come-first serve. Applications will be accepted during designated open periods from July 6, 2020 through September 19, 2020. A 20% increase is applied for programs with NAFCC or NAEYC Accreditation, and 5% for those in process.

Eligible Programs Must:
  • For DCFH / DCGH / DCCC: Program had to be licensed and operating in January 2020 with children attending
  • All programs must be open / verified reopening
  • All programs has registered for CTCARES for Child Care Businesses
Registration for CTCARES for Child Care Businesses Program:

To receive payments, you must register your business here in order to get a State of Connecticut supplier ID. You will complete contact information and an IRS Form W-9. Please click on the link below..

If you are already registered for a different CTCTARES program, please login and you will be given a link to add the CTCARES for Child Care Businesses to your existing registration and supplier ID.


CTCARES for Child Care

CTCARES for Child Care offers financial help to licensed child care providers who remain open or who reopen to provide child care for the children of essential workers. CTCARES for Child Care funds are intended to help compensate child care staff members at child care facilities that are open and serving essential workers.

Eligible Programs Must:
  • Meet requirements for the number of children of essential workers served, and
  • Hold an OEC child care license and not subject to any pending enforcement actions or formal discipline in the past three years.
CTCARES for Frontline Workers

CTCARES for Frontline Workers helps frontline workers pay for child care with any provider of their choice. This is a six-week program to help during the COVID-19 emergency. Families can apply starting Monday, April 27, 2020 through Friday, May 22, 2020.

Eligible Providers Must:
  • Be age 20 or older and not be the child’s parent.
  • Have no history of any felony convictions involving minor children
  • Not be listed on the DCF Central Registry due to a substantiation of child abuse or neglect
